I hope this is the right place to post, I live in Utah & there is a massive data center being proposed & trying to be forced through planning & approval, there are so many corrupt details & I really think this is something BP should cover. The Stratos Hyperscale Data Center is being proposed to be built in Box Elder County UT, it will be 40,000 acres, the largest data center in the world I believe, it is expected to use 9 gigawatts of power, which is double what the entire state currently uses. The county residents are livid, they got one committee vote postponed until Monday tomorrow. The project was green lighted by a government entity called MIDA, Military Installation Development Authority, it is an unelected entity, they have been working with investors, such as Kevin O Leary, Mr. Wonderful himself. The county commissioners just found out about this project 2 weeks ago & are being pressured to just rubber stamp the project right now. The project has gotten a tax break, typical tax rate for a business is 6%, this data center will be paying 0.5%. There has been zero input from the public, have been actively kept in the dark. There have been zero environment impact studies, provided to the public, there are no clear numbers or data on how much water this data center will consume, in a state that is in drought conditions right now. There have been Utah State University professors in physics publicly claiming this will devastate the states water supply & the claims there making of how much water & resources there claiming it will use, defy the laws of thermodynamics. I probably sound a little like a nut job but, the entire state is up in arms & it’s getting very little coverage, details are unclear, Governor Cox is trying to force the project through, this data center will probably change life in Utah forever, I would really appreciate if you guys can help me get someone’s attention at BP, the people of UT need help.
