Regarding the Epstein birthday book pages BP covered yesterday. Has anyone else heard about most of them only through Breaking Points? Seems inexplicable to me because it's not like Saagar had a secret source. The New York Times put a lot of resources behind their piece investigating JP Morgan's links to Epstein, but as far as I saw only thought it was worth covering less than a tenth of the freely available birthday book pages that Saagar and Emily discussed.
It’s disappointing that with everything going on, the entire episode was only about CK. His murder was a vile and visceral thing that shouldn’t have happened, but the fawning over a man who spent his life belittling minorities of all stripes, defending slavery, saying that a ten year old rape victim has no right to an abortion, and encouraging the rise of fascism in this country ain’t it. I feel for his kids, and for those who will be unjustly targeted by those looking for retribution. Having said that, there is still an entire world of news unfolding. There are kids being shot in schools. There are world leaders committing unspeakable atrocities without retribution. There are families starving and suffering. There are victims of abuse trying desperately to find justice and closure. If CK wasn’t as known as he was, this would have been a two minute story, and we would have moved on. He was no hero. He was just another person who fell victim to the ongoing scourge of gun ...
