I may get attacked for this, but every time we're covering Ukraine, I get a yucky feeling. Yes, I agree with everything you all say. But I feel the part that is lacking is that the Ukrainian people don't deserve this. And they seem to be forgotten when we discuss all of the ways the war has been horrible. Especially considering it's basically our fault. They're people too, who are being used as pawns, and it's just so sad. I feel like that point isn't addressed enough. I understand all of it is f**ked and the ways Zelenskyy has made it worse by not conceding and the money we send and blah blah. But people are not their governments. And innocent civilians are constantly being killed there still. And when it's being discussed, it feels insensitive. Just my opinion as someone with friends over there helping. I know of one that would probably love to speak to you all, too. He truly knows his stuff. And all of the small groups training and providing medical care and evacuations, they see ...
These designer baby startups are giving Thanos of the 2020’s. Can’t wait to see the federal indictments roll in over the next few years. Additionally in a post RvW world, it’s wild to think conservatives and evangelicals would back this.
Also, regarding the abortion rates on deficiencies and chromosomal issues in the US is high given the statistics surrounding quality of life and lack of social systems in this country. Down syndrome is not the main problem, it’s the heart defects that can be deadly, the likelihood of childhood leukemia, etc. one of my friends said it best about a disabled child, “I have no issues with having a disabled child, but who is going to take care of and advocate for my kid when I’m gone.” This is the truth, ask parents who have older children with disabilities how tough it is keeping them home and getting them the services they need.
