Hello from Asheville. I've been watching you guys since the Buck Sexton days of Rising (I call those the dark ages). You guys already held a place in my heart, but after all of this you don't even know.
I randomly hit the "download" button on youtube watching the episode of counter points about the pager attack a few weeks ago; it was the only video I had downloaded on my phone. For four days the only sounds I heard aside from talking to my dog were Ryan's and Emily's voices telling me about a pager attack on the other side of the world and Matt Walsh getting schooled on Haiti. I watched that episode until my phone died each night and then charged my phone from my car battery so I could do it again the next night.
I opened my restaurant the same week that Breaking Points aired its first episode, so in a way I've been trauma-bonded to you guys for years now. When I was able to get in contact with my crew we started doing what we do to help everyone we could. We've been handing out free hot meals to the all the displaced people and trying to drive as far out into the communities around us as we can to get food and supplies to stranded people. I don't know if we're going to be able to open up again as a business or what the future looks like, but we're going to be there feeding people until there isn't anything to cook.
Power is starting to come back and there are wifi stations set up around town (excluding the disgusting cash grab bullshit that Elon Musk is pulling with his starlink grift) so I have thankfully caught up on all the missed episodes and have more than one video downloaded on my phone now. They're estimating 4-8 weeks till we can have water and another 2 till we don't have to boil it to drink.
I know a whole lot of words, but nowhere close as many as I need to express how thankful I am for you guys. I'm never going to forget about the inner workings of American influenced Haitian politics or pager bombs, and I'm never going to forget that you were there for me when the world ended twice. Thank you so much.
