Figured this would be the best place out of any to start a debate like this as the people who watch this show are generally more engaged and more informed- politically speaking:
I don't think it's a very bold claim to say that Biden was more America first than Trump has been in his first year. I know you can't say something like that without omitting his policy on Israel Gaza but I also don't think you can ignore the stance he took on energy climate change domestic manufacturing and jobs created especially in his first year. Or maybe I just really hate Trump that much that I can ignore everything Biden did. What are you guys thinking?

I wish Krystal's hypothesis about Gavin losing popularity because of failing to stand up to the wealthy were true. However, I know too many normie democrats, and I think she is wrong here. It's wishful thinking.
Just like MAGA only lives to "own the libs," normie dems have made "opposing trump" their entire identity the past few years. Sadly, they are not viewing things through a class lens yet. They are still quite partisan. Gavin's line about "a tent that contains Machine and Mamdani" will resonate with those types. And normie centrists are still the majority in the democratic party.
I wish it were different, but that's what I see on the ground, in the Midwest, anyway.
