Breaking Points

Breaking Points is an independent news program hosted by Krystal Ball and Saagar Enjeti. CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC are ripping us apart and making millions of dollars doing it. We don't have soulless billionaires or corporations backing our high end TV production, but we do have YOU. Together we're creating better, more insightful news to help us understand the world.

Krystal touched on this story happening in my town a few months back……200 year old paper mill in Ohio closing. One of our Senators came to give a little bullshit spin like he was doing something about it…..he said that he worked with the company to keep the mill open until the end of the year…..it closed almost 2 weeks ago now and on top of that, employees just found out that their severance and last paychecks could take weeks to receive! I hate it here.

I may get attacked for this, but every time we're covering Ukraine, I get a yucky feeling. Yes, I agree with everything you all say. But I feel the part that is lacking is that the Ukrainian people don't deserve this. And they seem to be forgotten when we discuss all of the ways the war has been horrible. Especially considering it's basically our fault. They're people too, who are being used as pawns, and it's just so sad. I feel like that point isn't addressed enough. I understand all of it is f**ked and the ways Zelenskyy has made it worse by not conceding and the money we send and blah blah. But people are not their governments. And innocent civilians are constantly being killed there still. And when it's being discussed, it feels insensitive. Just my opinion as someone with friends over there helping. I know of one that would probably love to speak to you all, too. He truly knows his stuff. And all of the small groups training and providing medical care and evacuations, they see ...

Krystal - about the eugenics interest, you might try interviewing Michael Sandel. His book, The Case Against Perfection is so good. He published a shorter article with the same name in the Atlantic. Adam Briggle, too, is really good. He has a book on the Kass Council. Both are top-notch philosophers. Both might take us up on the interview offer.
