Breaking Points

Breaking Points is an independent news program hosted by Krystal Ball and Saagar Enjeti. CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC are ripping us apart and making millions of dollars doing it. We don't have soulless billionaires or corporations backing our high end TV production, but we do have YOU. Together we're creating better, more insightful news to help us understand the world.

@BreakingPoints Hi, Community. I hope your weekend is going well. I've been struggling with a thought that's bothered me.

@SaagarEnjeti downplayed Project 2025 for months. Hand waving it away every time it came up in conversation. Trump says he doesn't know about Project 2025 or anyone affiliated with it; meanwhile, it's filled with members of his then-former staff and people in his orbit.

Fast forward to today, and it's hard to reconcile Saagar's analysis with our current reality. Project 2025 is being enacted before our eyes: Russ Vought is head of OBM, was in the running for Chief of Staff, and there's chaos in federal spending and employment. Birthright citizenship is up for grabs, and if that amendment isn't safe, which others are vulnerable? Sure, it has to go through the courts, but iykyk. I could keep going, but you get the point.

Saagar used to sit on the Board of Advisors with an organization called American Moment with his buddy, JD Vance. When I initially looked on the site, both were actively on the Board but are now Board Emeritus. In June 2022, the American Movement joined the Heritage Foundation in their "Heritage 2025 Presidential Transition Project." You can find an achieved blurb on their website, though there's not as much information as there used to be when I first visited the site some time ago. Saagar and Vance were listed as active board members at the time if memory serves.

I don't have more than that; the potential implications are significant. I'm not sure what it means, but maybe someone with more time on their hands can do the digging if there's digging to be done. This is probably nothing at all, but I am aware that the shows' hosts often disclose conflicting relationships and such.

This would seem like a conflict.

Maybe I'm just a paranoid clown, and I hope so, but I've been thinking about this off and on for a long time.

Am I just being conspiratorial? Am I missing something?

Ease up with the snippiness towards each other.
great show don’t wanna see it crumble on the inside from you guys not get along. It’s coming across on the show.

Seems like since his friend JD became VP @SaagarEnjeti has lost his objectiveness, repeating MAGA talking points with increasing frequency. Does he understand he was spouting misogynistic and anti-LGBT words while speaking about how "they let anybody" be clergy in half of Episcopal churches? Is that how he really feels? Women and homosexuals have no right to be clergy? Because that's the split that sent JD to Catholicism.

I'm a cannabis smoking lesbian (out in Indiana since 1982). I usually ignore his puritan aspirations because he blends it with reasoning from his prospective. Lately he's been more MAGA than not. He is becoming a barrier where he was once a bridge.

Don't think I don't have problems with Krystal, who is a Democratic apologist far too often.

Both neglect the "how we got here" in their discussions. Immigration vs US interventionalism as example.

I am weary from the lack of civility. I am weary of feeling attacked for who I am and weary of paying for the comfortable ...

Saagar, what's up? You don't seem well sometimes. That whole immigration debate regarding the bishop's call for mercy has made me think you must be deeply hurt by something. I appreciate the heterodox views, but, my dude, you're being just a bit too hardcore. Seems like you "doth protest too much," and there's something going on under the surface that you might not even understand yet. Have you ever gone to therapy? I hope you can understand I'm not asking in a snarky way. It just feels like you have some things to process psychologically, not just intellectually.
