Breaking Points
News • Politics
Breaking Points is an independent news program hosted by Krystal Ball and Saagar Enjeti. CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC are ripping us apart and making millions of dollars doing it. We don't have soulless billionaires or corporations backing our high end TV production, but we do have YOU. Together we're creating better, more insightful news to help us understand the world.

Watching BP On Spotify

We've heard questions about Spotify access that we would like to make clear.

Spotify's legal team is giving us issues and slowing down the migration.

In the meantime we've created a temporary Spotify video playlist that we are linking in all the show emails and posts.

Today I had an opportunity to listen to an independent news source do an investigation into a private equity group using apartment complexes to launder money. Instead I got to listen to Saagar complain about immigration. Again. With nothing new to add. Why am I paying to listen to the same 3 stories on repeat?

I'm all for political coverage, but this program is turning into noise while I drink coffee fast. There's lots happening that's relevant to the election. Guess that stuff isn't in Crystal and Saager's Twitter feeds. I'll just have to wait for Ryan and Emily's segments.

Ryan seems to hang quite a bit on the fact that he was a Green a quarter century ago. Maybe it would actually be worthwhile for BP to interview some of the 150+ Greens who hold local elected office across the United States today. Or have a discussion with Green Party members in Allegheny County in Pennsylvania who have stood in solidarity on picket lines with striking workers. Or Green Party members who are making the case to friends and neighbors in communities across the country about why it actually makes sense to vote for the only candidate who has centered Palestinian humanity and opposition to genocide who is on more than enough state ballots to reach 270. It's very frustrating to constantly watch Green Party members talked about in this abstract, dismissive tone without actually giving us an opportunity to speak for ourselves. If it was good enough for RFKJ voters, it's good enough for us, too.
